If I uninstall my iTunes, will all my downloads/music and the authorizations be deleted?

People say if u uninstall and then install that it will help move along this terrible thing with the 2.0 firmware upgrade... but will it reauthorize my computer that my friends authorized? Will it delete my music/downloads too? I just do not want it to come back and bite me in the .
