How to you make the people at the make up counter stop?

whenever i got to a make up counter to buy one thing or ask one question they bombard me with products and useless information i dont need. i try not to buy anything i dont need but sometimes they wont leave you alone unless you do (and even then, i just return it to a different store or different counter). what is a polite and effective way to say no to them?
