Why are the media quick to judge?

the issue with Mel Gibson...Jesus said let him without sin cast the first stone...why do 'they' in entertainment judge so harshly and who are we to judge? Why does the likes of [Michael Jackson] have to pay a high price for their success...what does that lead you to believe?
